'Apex Legends' FAN CONCEPT

This Fan skin was created as part of a college assignment where I took a pre-existing character and created a new design to be used in-game. Here we have ‘Wattson’ from ‘Apex Legends’ in my own creation “VOLTERGEIST”.
For this project I researched the character extensively, looking into backstory, previous skins, and personality. Looking into previous skins I was inspired by previous legendary skins such as ‘Static Spike’ for their translucent body altercations and halloween aesthetic.
Exploring the characters background I discovered her backstory of a ‘ghostly experience’ where she believes she saw a ghost inside of a lab, and another point in her story where she was struck by lightning, having a brush with death. From there I combined the see-though elements and Halloween theme with a wide selection of mood boards and rough sketches to pull the design together, making sure to keep key elements in her design such as her equipment (Interception Pylon, gloves, large hood, knee protection).
The palette was determined by halloween themes, basing the colours of purple and blue around the neon Turquoise base of her skin.
